Romney
(voiceover): I'm Mitt Romney and I approved this message.
[Music] Male Announcer: Two former governors, two good family men. Both pro-life, both support a Constitutional amendment protecting traditional marriage. The difference? Mitt Romney stood up, and vetoed in-state tuition for illegal aliens, opposed driver's licenses for illegals. Mike Huckabee? Supported in-state tuition benefits for illegal immigrants. Huckabee even supported taxpayer-funded scholarships for illegal aliens. On immigration, the choice matters. |
Notes: From the McCain campaign on
Dec. 10,
2007:
U.S. Senator John McCain's Iowa Chair, Dave Roederer, today issued the following statement: "News that Mitt Romney will launch a new attack ad tomorrow is another move by a campaign that continues to insult Iowa voters. Iowa families should not be subjected to this negative style of campaigning, especially during the holiday season.Observations: This may be the most direct attack ad of the campaign thus far, unless one counts the Fred Thompson production run during the YouTube debate. With polls and reports indicating that Huckabee has sailed past Romney in Iowa, the Romney campaign must have decided this was the best route it could take. As the above e-mail suggests, it's quite a risk. |
