[Music] Joe Ward:  Let me tell you a little story.  My son Joel had a terrible illness.  He needed a bone marrow transplant that our insurance wouldn’t cover and we couldn’t afford.

We called Senator Clinton and asked for help.  Her office called the next day letting us know the hospital was going to absorb the cost of the transplant.

Now, her opponents are saying that Hillary can’t be trusted.  I trusted this woman to save my son’s life.  And she did.

Clinton (voiceover):  I’m Hillary Clinton, and I approved this message.

Notes:  According to the press release, Joe Ward is a New York constituent of Senator Clinton whose son needed a bone marrow transplant.  The message of this ad is not only that Clinton can be trusted, but that she cares and can get things done.  Interestingly the Obama campaign very recently ran a testimonial ad of its own in Iowa ("High and Dry," run starting Nov. 8, featured David Hartgrave, a Cedar Rapids resident who lost much of his pension).
