Obama
for America
"Embrace"
|
[Music] Male Announcer: For
decades, he’s been Washington’s biggest celebrity. TV sound: "John McCain" And as Washington embraced him, John McCain
hugged right back. The lobbyists –
running his low road campaign. The money –
billions in tax breaks for oil and
drug companies, but almost nothing for families like yours. Lurching to the right, then the left, the old
Washington dance, whatever it takes. TV sound: [applause] "John McCain" A Washington celebrity playing the same old
Washington games. |
Notes: This ad
was released on the day that Obama outlined his "New Energy for America
Plan" in a speech in Lansing, MI. McCain campaign spokesman
Tucker Bounds responded with this statement: Notes: A response to the celebrity theme the McCain campaign introduced at the end of July ("Celeb"). This ad has six different clips of McCain with Bush. According to the Obama campaign press release... The Obama campaign today released
a new 30-second television spot highlighting the record of the biggest celebrity in Washington, John
McCain. The ad
entitled “Embrace” addresses the numerous ways in which the special
interests in Washington have embraced John McCain and how McCain has hugged right back,
employing lobbyists in top positions and
giving tax breaks to oil and
drug companies, instead of working to ease the burden on middle-class
families.
