Obama (voiceover): I'm Barack Obama and I approve this message.

[Music] Male Announcer: Maybe you're struggling just to pay the mortgage on your home.

But, recently, John McCain said: "The fundamentals of our economy are strong."

Hmmm.

Then again, that same day, when asked how many houses he owns...

...McCain lost track.  He couldn't remember.

Well, it's seven.  Seven houses.

And here's one house America can't afford... to let John McCain move into.

Notes: This ad was released on the day that Obama outlined his "New Energy for America Plan" in a speech in Lansing, MI.  McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds responded with this statement:

Notes: After battling the "celebrity" label for several weeks, the Obama campaign leapt on the report in today's Politico that John McCain could not recall how many houses he owns.  According to the campaign's press release, the ad shows "just how out of touch John McCain is with the struggles of everyday people."  "The ad highlight's John McCain's desire to just offer more of the same economic policies we've gotten from President Bush, as just yesterday he declared 'the fundamentals of our economy are strong' and lost track of how many houses he owns," the release states.  Further, the campaign organized a number of events around the country:
