Cuando los hispanos necesitaron un amigo en el Congreso durante el debate sobre inmigración… ¿quién salió a defenderlos? ¿Quién se pronunció a favor de sus intereses? John McCain. El senador McCain trabajó con republicanos y demócratas para redactar una propuesta legislativa sobre inmigración. Y aunque el proyecto de ley no fue aprobado, sólo McCain mostró verdadera dedicación a reformar la inmigración de manera que se respetaran nuestras leyes, así como a nuestros inmigrantes y tradiciones. ¿Y Barack Obama? Obama no salió a defender a los hispanos. Obama no se pronunció a su favor. Y cuando fue momento de hacer lo correcto, no lo hizo. Obama apoyó medidas concebidas para insertar un “veneno” letal a fin de acabar con la medida de inmigración. Si Obama ni siquiera tuvo la valentía de defender los intereses de los inmigrantes, ¿cómo puede afirmar que tiene la fuerza para cambiar la forma en que Washington funciona? John McCain está listo para gobernar. Barack Obama no lo está. McCain: I'm John McCain and I approve this message. When Hispanics needed a friend in Congress during the immigration debate… Who stood up? Who spoke out? John McCain. Senator McCain worked with Republicans and Democrats alike to form immigration legislation. And while the bill didn’t pass, only McCain demonstrated a real commitment to reforming immigration in a way that honored our laws as well as our immigrants and traditions. And Barack Obama? Obama did not stand up. Obama did not speak out. And when the time came for him to do the right thing, he did not. Obama supported measures designed to insert a deadly “poison pill” to kill the immigration legislation. If Obama didn’t even have the courage to stand up for immigrants, how can he claim to have the strength to change the way Washington works? John McCain is ready to lead.
