(announced May 10, 2007) New Hampshire House Democratic Caucus Director in 2006, responsible for recruiting candidates and drafting campaign plans for every district, started Oct. 2005. In 2004 Mitchell coordinated volunteers for the state party’s General Election GOTV efforts, and earlier worked on Sen. John Edwards’ presidential primary campaign in New Hampshire and subsequent states. (announced July 16, 2007) Of Hollis. Has worked on statewide races both in Iowa and New Hampshire - including volunteering on Paul Hodes’ congressional campaign in 2006. Served as a Mary-Janney and Jane Fleming Fellow for the Wider Opportunities for Women. Graduate of The George Washington University, 2005.

Merrimack County and the Lakes Region State Rep. Steve Shurleff

(announced July 25, 2007, also will advise on Veterans’ issues and join the New Hampshire First Responders for Biden Caucus) Represents Penacook and is Assistant House Majority Leader. Joined the U.S. Marshals Service in 1974 and rose to the rank of Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal before retiring after 26 years. After completing his military service Shurleff worked as a police officer with the Concord Police Department. Served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman from 1966-69, a year of which was in Vietnam.

(announced July 16, 2007) Of Dover. A recent Babson College graduate. Has worked and volunteered for five Massachusetts campaigns. His father, Jim Collins, is a former Massachusetts State Representative.

Cheshire County and Western NH Kristen Stewart

(announced July 16, 2007) Of Concord. Most recently worked for Rep. Jim Ryan in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. Worked for the Franklin City Democrats during the 2006 midterm elections. Has volunteered at Planned Parenthood.

North Country John Hayden

(announced July 16, 2007) Recently moved to New Hampshire after graduating from Salmon-Chase Law School in Kentucky. In 2006 Hayden worked on a Kentucky State Representative campaign. In 2004 he ran for City Commissioner in Newport, Kentucky.

North Country State Rep. Bill Hatch

(endorsement announced Aug. 2, 2007) Represents Gorham; elected in 2006. After serving in the military, Hatch worked for a medical supply company before starting his own business. He is also a former Deacon in the Gorham Congregational Church. Served in the US Air Force as a Medic from 1969-73. Hatch has been active in Democratic politics since 1960 when he volunteered for then Sen. John F. Kennedy’s campaign. Since then he has been active in the presidential campaigns of Walter Mondale, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Al Gore and John Kerry (Veterans for Kerry). He is a member of the Democratic State Committee and a Board Member of the Community Action Program in Gorham that includes organizations such as HeadStart.

Chairman and Senior Advisor State Rep. Jim Ryan

(announced June 5, 2007) Represents Franklin (Merrimack County). As Grassroots Chair of the New Hampshire Democratic State Committee since 2002, Ryan has worked closely with town and county committees and local leaders to build electoral infrastructure. He has led the Committee to Elect House Democrats since 2004, helping Democrats gain 87 seats in the 2006 midterm elections, and control of the New Hampshire State House of Representatives for the first time in over a century.

Co-Chair and Chair of First Responders for Biden State Rep. Dan Eaton

(announced Dec. 6, 2007) Rep. Eaton is former Stoddard Chief of Police and is town and school district moderator in Stoddard. Eaton, now House Democratic Floor Leader, has served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives for nine terms. He is also chair of Cheshire County Democrats.

-State Representative and Police Sergeant Mark Preston - Sergeant Mark Preston of Seabrook is currently serving his first term in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. He has served the Seabrook community for over 26 years and spent two years working with the New Hampshire Attorney-General’s special drug task force in the 1990s. His uncle was 12-term State Senator Bob Preston.

-Manchester Fire Commissioner and State Representative Robert Haley - Representative Haley is a six term State Representative who first became involved in New Hampshire Presidential politics in 1976 when he supported Jimmy Carter’s first Presidential campaign.

-Detective Steve Arnold, former President of the New Hampshire Police Association - Steve Arnold served in law enforcement since joining the United States Air Force as a military policeman after high school. When he left the military in 1986 he joined the Portsmouth Police Department and continues to serve the Portsmouth community today as Detective. Detective Arnold is also a former President of the New Hampshire Police Association.
