Summary: Based on an "at a glance" look at a number of front pages, Hurricane Gustav's missing a direct hit on New Orleans was the lead story in Tuesday morning's papers.  The opening of the Convention made front pages of all papers in the sample; story lines included Bristol Palin's pregnancy and demonstrations.  The Convention appearance by Laura Bush and Cindy McCain received modest photo coverage on front pages. Some papers ran small photos to go with the Bristol Palin story.  The local Minnesota papers gave prominent photo play to the demonstrations.  NEWSEUM
