Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) laid out an ambitious agenda
for 2006. "Tax cuts are working," Frist said. "Now is the time
to make those tax cuts permanent." Further, Frist said, "The
days of the death tax are numbered." He said he will move to "bury
the death tax for once and for all" this May. Frist also drew enthusiastic
applause when he announced that, "On June 5th when I bring the Marriage
Protection Amendment to the Senate floor, we will act." Frist's wife
Karyn accompanied him at the conference. |
