March 2, 2007--Former Gov. Mitt Romney (R-MA) addresses
CPAC. After an introduction by Americans for Tax Reform's Grover
Norquist and few words from wife Ann, Romney got into his speech. He
declared, "It's the conservative coalition represented in this room
that can build a brighter future for America--economic conservatives,
social conservatives and national security conservatives." Romney
said: "It is time to cut out the
mountains of waste and inefficiency and duplication in the federal
government. I've done that in business. I've done it in the Olympics.
I've done it in Massachusetts. And frankly, I can't wait to get my
hands on Washington."
Romney stated: "This isn't the time for us to shrink from conservative principles. It's the time for us to stand in strength because America faces unprecedented challenges. Strength is the only answer: strong military, strong economy, strong families." (more) |
