Dear DNC Member,

It is an honor to join you at the DNC Winter Meeting as we celebrate Democrats' victories in 2006 and discuss how can build on those victories in 2008.  I know many of you  from my time in Congress, but I wanted to take a moment to let you know about my new role as Campaign Manager for John Edwards' presidential campaign.

I cannot think of anything more important that I could be doing than working to elect John Edwards our next President.  For years, I have followed John's work and I got to know him better when he joined the Board of Directors of American Rights at Work in 2005.  I am constantly impressed by his commitment to helping America's working families.  John believes in everything I care about so deeply -fighting poverty, protecting workers' rights, addressing race relations in our country, and strengthening our middle class.

John is the kind of leader our country desperately needs. In order to get our country back on track, he believes we must do more than identify problems, we must take action -and John I has done exactly that.  In the last election cycle, John joined with grassroots coalitions in six states to help pass minimum wage ballot initiatives.  He has traveled the country, speaking about the importance of workers' rights and the Employee Free Choice Act and helping more than 20 national unions organize thousands of workers by speaking at rallies, calling employers and even walking picket lines.  The AFL-CIO recognized his exceptional work on behalf of working Americans by awarding him the Paul Wellstone Award in 2006.

I am proud to join John Edwards' campaign to create a working society where every person who works hard has the chance to achieve the American Dream.  I hope to be able to talk to you in the coming weeks and months about John's vision for our country.  Thank you.

Sincerely,

David Bonior
Campaign Manager
