In 2006 Hemingway managed the 1st CD winning runoff campaign for Randy Maatta of Charleston and continued to manage the campaign through the general election.  Worked as a freelance marketing/public relations expert.  In 2004 Hemingway served as a regional field director for the John Edwards for President campaign, was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Boston, and served as the base regional coordinator for the SCDP Coordinated Campaign in Charleston, SC.  A computer contractor with Bellsouth in Atlanta, GA.  Marketing director for Kaplan Educational Centers in Arizona.  An account executive with a woman-owned sole proprietor advertising/marketing agency in Tempe, AZ.  Started television career in production at WACH Fox 57 in Columbia, SC and finished as director of community affairs.  B.A. in journalism from the University of South Carolina, 1987.  Native of Georgetown, SC.

Taking leave from Yale Law School to work for the campaign; worked summer 2007 at a litigation boutique firm in Washington, DC and summer 2006 at the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund in New York.  Worked at a startup political consulting firm in South Carolina.  Master's in equality studies at University College Dublin (Ireland). Worked as an intern at the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Justice Department.  Graduated from Furman University with bachelor's degrees in political science and sociology.  From South Carolina.
