October 19-21, 2007 Summit Draws All Major Republican Candidates ...Next >
October 19, 2007--"All we have to do is enforce and obey the Constitution," Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) told the Washington Briefing 2007: Values Voter Summit.  "Freedom is much better than bureaucracy and government socialism," Paul said.  "Freedom really works."  Paul described Roe vs. Wade as "one of the most despicable of all court rulings."  We can remove the jurisdiction of this issue for the federal courts," Paul said, citing his We the People Act [H.R. 300].  Paul decried the loss on national sovereignty and warned that the economy is on the verge of bankruptcy.
Paul received just 25 onsite votes in the Straw Poll of 952 total (2.63%), but in overall votes including online voting, his Internet strength showed as he finished third with 865 votes out of 5,775 or 14.98%.
