Statement by Former AR Gov. Mike Huckabee on the 2nd Quarter FEC Report
Little Rock, AR – Former Governor Mike Huckabee (AR) issued the following statement about his second quarter FEC report, which was filed today.
“My goal for the second quarter was to have enough cash to get through the Iowa straw poll – which we have. While a lot of focus is placed on money raised, the rest of the story is money spent and how effectively. By frugal spending, the campaign is focused on each step in the process and making it to the next milepost, which we have done. I’m also pleased that we've added a significant number of new donors in states across America – and there is visible excitement surrounding the campaign.
“We’re also continuing to move forward by adding staff and building
momentum in Iowa and New Hampshire while other campaigns are pulling back
from too much spending. This is good fiscal management of the resources
at our disposal. It also gives voters insight into how I successfully
managed Arkansas’s state budget for more than 10 years – and the fiscal
discipline that I’d exercise over federal spending as President.”
