Aug. 13, 2007 - Had coffee with veterans at Waveland Café in Des Moines; attended the Iowa State Fair including speaking at the Des Moines Register “Soapbox;” and met with veterans at Four Mile Community Center in Des Moines. 

July 20-22, 2007 - July 20 Attended the Iowa Cubs vs. Nashville Sounds game at Principal Park in Des Moines.  July 21 Did meet and greet at the Des Moines Downtown Farmer's Market; attended the Iowa Democratic Party's state central committee meeting at IDP headquarters in Des Moines; addressed the AFSCME Council 61 15th Biennial Convention at the Airport Holiday Inn in Des Moines; and did a Community Kitchen Table at the Ritual Café in Des Moines.  On July 22 Attended mass Sunday morning at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Des Moines.

May 18, 2007 - Did a discussion on "How to End the War in Iraq and Strengthen America" at Drake University's Pomerantz Stage in Des Moines.  Later he did "Real Time with Bill Maher" from Des Moines, and he flew out of Des Moines that night. 

May 3, 2007 - Spoke at a 21st Century Democrats luncheon at Jimmy's American Café in Des Moines; met with the Des Moines Register editorial board; and "got to sample some of the famous Italian food from the 'south side' of Des Moines." 

April 11-12, 2007 - April 11 In the evening spoke on "Beyond Iraq and Into an Era of Bold Engagement" at a Forum on International Relations event at The Des Moines Club, Ruan Center in Des Moines.  April 12 Held a Kitchen Table with Iowans concerned about education at the home of Des Moines School Board Member Dick Murphy in Des Moines.

Feb. 19, 2007 - Did events in Des Moines, starting with lunch at Downtown Fire House Station #1; speaking to the Iowa Democratic legislative caucuses, and then holding a press availability, at the State Capitol; doing coffee with "Women for a Stronger America" at the Village Bean; and a meet and greet with Iowa Machinists and local legislators at Machinists' Hall. 

Jan. 12, 2007 - One day after announcing his candidacy, attended Gov.-Elect Chet Culver's Inauguration Ceremony at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines; attended the Taste of Iowa Lunch (part of the Inaugural festivities) at Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines; and attended the Iowa State Bar Association's "Know Your Constitution' awards luncheon at West Des Moines Marriott in West Des Moines.
