>Sen. Evan Bayh visited Des Moines, Iowa on December 4, 2006.  He spoke at The Greater Des Moines Partnership’s Luncheon Speaking Series at the Des Moines Club (Ruan Building) and hosted an All America PAC meet and greet reception at the South Union Bread Company.

>Sen. Evan Bayh visited Iowa on September 30-October 2, 2006.
(Bayh had been scheduled to speak at the Boone County Brown-Woodard Dinner at the Boone DMACC but had to cancel due to votes in the Senate).
Late afternoon/early evening on September 30 he attended a reception honoring Dubuque County Democrats at the home of Carrie and Scott Tedore in Dubuque.
On October 1 he (attended a breakfast honoring Illinois 17th CD candidate Phil Hare at the home of Greg Hass and Dr. Melinda Hass in Rock Island, IL); attended a reception honoring Scott County Democrats at Duck Creek Lodge in Davenport; participated in a get out the vote rally with Johnson County Democrats at Flannigan’s in Coralville; and attended an event with Ankeny Democrats honoring state Senate candidate Merle Johnson at Benchwarmers in Ankeny.
On October 2 he attended a breakfast for state Senator Amanda Ragan at the Country Kitchen in Mason City; a women leaders event with state Senator Jeff Danielson at the Broom Factory Restaurant in Cedar Falls; a reception for 5th District state Senate candidate Rich Olive at Webster City Senior Center in Webster City; and a fundraiser for state Senator Daryl Beall at the Best Western Starlite in Fort Dodge.

On August 14 at the State Fair in Des Moines he did a press conference on renewable energy with gubernatorial candidate Chet Culver in front of the cattle barn, then walked around the Fair; attended an event for state Rep. Lisa Heddens and Story County Supervisor Jane Halliburton at Somerset Club House in Ames; did a meet and greet fundraiser with 9th District state Senate candidate Bill Heckroth at the Waverly Civic Center in Waverly; and did a fundraiser with House candidate Doris Kelley and state Rep. Bob Kressig in The Commons at UNI in Cedar Falls.
On August 15 he attended a reception for state House candidates Art Staed and Tyler Olson at Brewed Awakenings in Cedar Rapids; a Wake Up Wal-Mart press conference in front of the Linn County Court House Cedar Rapids; an event with state Senator Brian Shoenjahn and state House candidate Pete McRoberts at Buchanan County Democratic headquarters on 1st Street E in Independence; and a salute to state Rep. Ray Zirkelbach at Peosta Community Center in Peosta.

>Sen. Evan Bayh delivered a speech, "The American Middle Class: Future of the Nation, Future of the Democratic Party," at Pappajohn Education Center in Des Moines, Iowa on July 17, 2006.  (Earlier in the day he delivered the speech at the National Press Club in Washington, DC).

On late afternoon and evening of July 6 he joined Polk County State Senators and Representatives for a Joint Truman Fund reception (Iowa Democratic State House and Senate campaign committees) at the Plaza in Des Moines; and attended a fundraiser for 4th CD congressional candidate Selden Spencer at Raccoon Valley Community House in Adel (Dallas County).
On July 7 he taped "Iowa Press" at Iowa Public Television; in the afternoon attended a rally for Sen. Roger Stewart and Rep. Polly Butka at Eagle Point Park in Clinton; and in early evening he participated in an event honoring 1st CD congressional candidate Bruce Braley at Scott County Democratic Headquarters in Davenport.
On July 8 he attended events honoring Rep. Nathan Reichert at Green’s Tea and Coffee in the Pearl Plaza in Muscatine; Sen. Tom Courtney at UAW Local 807 in Burlington; 2nd CD congressional candidate Dave Loebsack at a private home in Iowa City; and a reception to benefit Democratic State House challengers (Kvach, Olson and Staed) at the 2006 Linn Dems headquarters at 601 2nd Ave SE in Cedar Rapids.

Evan Bayh visited Iowa on May 19-20, 2006.  On the evening of May 19 he was the special guest at the Polk County Democrats' Spring Dinner at United Steelworkers Local 310 in Des Moines.  On May 20 he keynoted a Clarke County Democrats' breakfast fundraiser for Rep. Mike Reasoner at Southwestern Community College Center in Osceola; spoke at a Pottawattamie County Democrats event honoring Rep. Paul Shomshor at 3018 Avenue M in Council Bluffs; and in the late afternoon spoke at a "Truman Club" fundraising event for the Woodbury County Democratic Party at the home of former state senator Steve Hansen and Glenda Den Herder in Sioux City.

Evan Bayh visited Iowa on February 11-13, 2006 On February 11 he spoke at a Linn County Phoenix Club reception at 3745 Cottage Grove Ave, SE in Cedar Rapids.  On February 12 he breakfasted with local women leaders at the Crowne Plaza Five Seasons in Cedar Rapids; met with local leaders at The Cottage Bakery & Restaurant in Iowa City; and hosted a fundraiser for the Iowa Senate Democratic Majority Fund with Sen. Keith Kreiman and Becky Schmitz at UFCW Local #230 Hall in Ottumwa.  On February 13 in Des Moines he had breakfast with leaders of 21st Century Forum; met with Iowa State Education Association representatives (organized by Brad Hudson); met with the Iowa House Democratic Caucus at the State Capitol; and met with the Iowa Senate Democratic Caucus at the State Capitol.

Evan Bayh visited Iowa on October 13-14, 2005.  On October 13 he attended a meet and greet breakfast organized by Bonnie and Ed Campbell at Blank Golf Course in Des Moines (Bonnie Campbell was a candidate for governor in 1994); attended a meet and greet lunch organized by state Rep. Janet Peterson at Cafe di Scala in Des Moines; attended a reception honoring Rep. Peterson at Christopher's in Des Moines; and was the special guest at a fundraiser for state Rep. Lisa Heddens, Assistant Minority Leader, at the home of Eric Fralick & Nikki Bado-Fralick in Ames.  On October 14 he attended a meet and greet breakfast organized by Jan Bauer, chair of the Story County Democratic Party, at Perkin's Restaurant in Ames.

>Sen. Evan Bayh visited Iowa on August 2-4, 2005.  On August 2 in Des Moines he attended a lunch honoring Rep. Leonard Boswell at Trattoria; held a press conference with Rep. Boswell discussing efforts to combat Meth at the State Historical Society (Terrace); and dropped by Iowa Democratic Party headquarters, also with Rep. Boswell.  On August 3 he had lunch with Waterloo area local officials at Beck's Sports Brewery in Waterloo; and attended a dinner honoring Black Hawk County Democrats at Hudson Community Center in Hudson.  On August 4 he met with the Greater Des Moines Young Professionals Connection at Greater Des Moines Partnership in Des Moines; and attended the groundbreaking of Stepping Stones Early Learning Center at West Elementary School in Knoxville.
