>Rep. Duncan Hunter participated in the Des Moines Register Republican Presidential Debate at Iowa Public Television's Maytag Auditorium in Johnston, Iowa on December 12, 2007.

>Rep. Duncan Hunter visited Des Moines, Iowa on October 27, 2007.  After arriving and settling in, he had breakfast at the Drake Diner, where he spoke with several supporters and did an interview with Campaigns and Elections; and he joined other candidates at the Republican Party of Iowa's Reagan Dinner at Hy-Vee Hall.  On the morning of October 28 he appeared on ABC's "This Week" to speak about the big fires in California and then flew out.

On August 5 he participated in the ABC News "This Week" Republican Presidential Debate at Drake University in Des Moines.
On August 6 he opted against a proposed round of campaigning at eight McDonald's restaurants in the greater Des Moines area and instead spent the day in Ames visiting restaurants and stores.  Then in the evening he was the guest speaker at the Madison County Republican Central Committee meeting at the Chamber of Commerce facility in Winterset.
On August 7 he opted against proposed McDonald's restaurant campaigning; instead he visited coffee shops in Council Bluffs in the morning and visited the Council Bluffs newspaper for an interview.  In the evening he was a speaker at Rep. Dwayne Alons' “Picnic in the Gym” fundraiser at the Hull Community Building in Hull.
On August 8 he walked in/along with the State Fair Parade in Des Moines.
On August 9 he spent the day at the State Fair in Des Moines, including speaking at the Des Moines Register: “Soap Box,” visiting and working at the Republican Party of Iowa booth, visiting media booths and retail campaigning.
On August 10 he spent the morning and early afternoon at the State Fair in Des Moines, including participating in Divided We Fail's Republican Presidential Candidate Conversation; and did Straw Poll set up.
On August 11 he participated in the Iowa Republican Straw Poll on the Iowa State University campus in Ames.

>Rep. Duncan Hunter visited Iowa on July 21-23, 2007.
On July 21 he attended the Iowa Regional Championship EIC sponsored by the Des Moines Rifle & Revolver Club in Van Meter; appeared at the Republican booth at the Pottawattamie County Fair in Avoca; appeared at the Republican booth at the Harrison County Fair in Missouri Valley; and did an Iowa Christian Alliance house party/meet and greet at the home of Steve and Kim Carlson in Sioux City.
On July 22, after attending church services in Sioux City in the morning, he appeared at the Republican booth at the Ida County Fair between Holstein and Ida Grove; appeared at the Republican booth at the Crawford County Fair; visited the Carroll County Fair; and did a dinner meet and greet at the home of Bob and Carol Jensen in Boone.
On July 23 he appeared on Mickelson in the Morning from WHO studio in Des Moines; and met with the Des Moines Register editorial board.

>Rep. Duncan Hunter visited Iowa on July 7-8, 2007.  On July 7 he had lunch with about a dozen potential supporters at Perkins (on Merle Hay) in Des Moines; and spoke at the open house for the Iowa Christian Alliance's new office in West Des Moines.  On July 8 he attended church at Campus Baptist Church in Ames; and had lunch with supporters at Hickory Park in Ames.

>Rep. Duncan Hunter participated in the Presidential Candidates Forum hosted by Iowans for Tax Relief (ITR) and the Iowa Christian Alliance (ICA) at the Iowa Events Center at Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines, Iowa on June 30, 2007.

>Rep. Duncan Hunter visited Iowa on June 21, 2007; he delivered the keynote luncheon speech and participated in an afternoon panel on China at the Coalition for Prosperity, a gathering of U.S. manufacturers, at the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center in Ames; and spoke at the Iowa Youth Leadership Town Hall Meeting at the Hilton Coliseum in Ames.

>Rep. Duncan Hunter appeared at the Presidential Picnic fundraiser, sponsored by the Chickasaw, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell and Worth County GOP organizations, at Charles City Middle School in Charles City, Iowa on June 10, 2007.  (He arrived after an appoximately 733-mile, 12-hour drive from Niles, Ohio).  Hunter flew out of Des Moines the next morning.

>Rep. Duncan Hunter planned to speak at Republican Party of Iowa's Lincoln Day Unity Dinner at the Polk County Convention Complex in Des Moines, Iowa on April 14, 2007 but his flight was canceled; he chartered a plane but it suffered mechanical problems.  After his plane troubles of the 14th, Hunter made it to Iowa on April 15, 2007.  He did "mainstreeting" door to door in Des Moines; and attended services at the Hope Lutheran Church in Des Moines.  According to campaign spokesman Roy Tyler, Hunter also did events in Iowa on April 16, but he could not recall any details when asked some weeks later.

>Rep. Duncan Hunter visited Iowa on March 31-April 5, 2007.  He acquired a Hunter green Ford F150 (flex fuel version) in Detroit, MI and he and communications director Roy Tyler drove almost 11 hours to Iowa and spent five-plus days in Iowa doing some events and lots of “mainstreeting,” shaking hands and talking to people one on one.
Arriving from Michigan late afternoon on March 31 he attended a private reception for Century Club members at the home of Ted and Jeri Hayes in Webster City; and was the special guest at the Hamilton County Republican Party Spring Dinner at The Bridge in Webster City.
On April 1 he started with an short interview at KCCI Channel 8 in Des Moines; attended services at Grace Church (Baptist)in Des Moines; and attended services at First Assembly of God Church in Des Moines.
On April 2 he met with William Dillon at the Ames Tribune in Ames; spoke to the Rotary Club at Second Street Emporium in Webster City; called in to Sean Hannity's Talk to the Candidate; and attended a College Republican student reception at the University of Iowa's Memorial Union in Iowa City.  Overnight in Cedar Rapids.
On April 3 he visited a downtown food court in Cedar Rapids, where FOX News taped a 15-minute segment; and was the featured speaker at a Union County Republicans event at the Pizza Ranch in Creston.
On April 4 he traveled from Creston to Maquoketa, stopping along the way to do some “mainstreeting” in Des Moines.  In Maquoketa he was the featured speaker at the Decker House Hotel and Restaurants in an early evening event organized by the Jackson County Republican Central Committee.  Overnight in Cedar Rapids.
On April 5 he did some "mainstreeting;" did an official congressional visit (tour and briefing) of Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids; and then drove to Des Moines for the flight to San Diego.

>Rep. Duncan Hunter hosted a breakfast and pheasant hunt for military veterans on December 16, 2006 at the Wild Feather Hunt Club in Baxter, Iowa (Jasper County).
