The Campaigns in Iowa
April 13, 2007-The Obama campaign's just-opened field office in Council Bluffs is located at 500 West Broadway, Ste. 150 (around the back of the yellowish building).  Regional director Rory Steele and field organizers Jim (Kyong) Nam and Michael Lindley were just getting established, but already at work making calls and organizing.
Janet Sutherland of Council Bluffs is a local supporter of Sen. Obama.  "This is the first time I've ever picked a candidate so early," she said.  She has read both his books and first went to see him speak at the Harkin Steak Fry.  Sutherland praised Obama's "reflectiveness" and the sense that he can pull the country together.  "It doesn't seem that it's us against them," she said.  Sutherland first caucused in 1976.
Supporters such as Sutherland help a campaign in many ways big and small.  Jim Nam had been using the copy paper box for a chair until she pointed out some chairs that were being thrown away.
Still unpacking.

August 7, 2007-Entrance to the office.
