July 29, 2006--Gov. Mitt Romney (R-MA) spoke at the Iowa Republican Party's 2006 Chairman's Dinner at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cedar Rapids. There was some speculation that he might miss the event as he has spent the last several weeks addressing the problems with Boston's "Big Dig" revealed on July 10 when a three-ton ceiling panel fell from a connector tunnel onto a car killing a woman.
