HARRISBURG –Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason is not surprised to see that seven ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) workers have been charged with falsifying voter registration forms during the 2008 election cycle.
“It’s about time that ACORN is held accountable for submitting thousands of fraudulent voter registration forms this past fall,” Gleason said. “When our Party took the lead in going after ACORN last year, we were deeply concerned about the damage that this group’s activities were having on our electoral system as a result of their efforts, which flooded county voter registration offices with thousands of fraudulent registrations.
“Our Party will continue to monitor this group’s activities in the hopes of preventing these types of activities from happening again.”
Today, the Pittsburgh
Post-Gazette broke news that seven ACORN employees were charged with
committing voter fraud and the Allegheny County District Attorney
confirmed that this investigation could expand. Click here to
