ARLINGTON, VA – U.S. Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign today announced the creation of South Carolina Mayors for McCain, a twenty-six member leadership committee aimed at advancing Senator McCain’s grassroots organization in the Palmetto State.

Mayors for McCain is the most recent group of notable supporters to join the Arizona Senator’s team in South Carolina.  The coalition of local mayors includes members from every region of the state.

Senator John McCain stated he was grateful to have the strong support of these local leaders in South Carolina.  “Each one of these individuals has the pulse of his or her community,” said Senator McCain.  “And as we continue to build a broad base of support in South Carolina, I believe their input will be extremely valuable.  I look forward to working with them in the months ahead to help spread our message of common sense conservatism.”
