MANCHESTER, NH -- U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today launched the New Hampshire Women for McCain Coalition. The group will work to engage and enlist women to build John McCain's strong grassroots organization in the Granite State.

"These are challenging times, both at home and abroad, and John McCain is the most qualified to face our nation's critical challenges as commander in chief from day one," said Judith MacDonald, State Chair of New Hampshire Women for McCain and Hillsborough County Registrar of Deeds. "I am proud to stand with the growing number of New Hampshire women concerned about a wide variety of important issues, like national security and healthcare, in support of John McCain's candidacy for president."

Nancy Merrill, former New Hampshire Republican Party national committeewoman, added, "John McCain is the one candidate running for president who can offer experienced leadership, a record of reform, and a vision for the future of our country. His life and career in public service has been defined by his courage, honesty and love of country. John McCain is the only candidate who can beat the Democratic nominee in the general election."

John McCain thanked the coalition members for their support, stating, "I am grateful to have the support of so many community leaders, and I look forward to working with them as we continue to reach out to New Hampshire's women voters."
