Senator Jackie Cilley Joins Obama’s Movement for Change

New Senator understands how deeply NH voters want to turn the page

Sen. Cilley “knows better than anyone how change happens in this country,” Obama says

MANCHESTER, NH—State Senator Jackie Cilley announced today that she has joined Senator Barack Obama’s campaign to change American politics.  Senator Cilley was elected to the New Hampshire Senate as part of the new Democratic majority in 2006, offering a positive agenda for change and tapping into widespread dissatisfaction with the status quo.

“New Hampshire voters don’t want to hear partisan talking points—they want real solutions,” Senator Cilley said.  “Barack Obama is striking a chord with folks here because his approach is a welcome departure from what we’ve seen in Washington over the last few years.  As I’ve watched him campaign across in New Hampshire, I’ve been struck by his commitment to bringing about fundamental change and bringing people together to make progress again.  He’s exactly what we need in our next President.”

“As a small business owner, a community leader, and an educator, Senator Cilley understands how policies in Washington affect everyday people—and as a member of the new Senate majority she knows better than anyone how change happens in this country,” Senator Obama said.  “Jackie’s guidance will be invaluable as we move forward with this grassroots campaign.”

Senator Cilley is an established leader in New Hampshire’s business community.  For some 15 years she owned and operated Cilley & Associates, a market research firm based out of Barrington. Today, she serves as marketing manager for Horseshoes Plus, Inc., which she co-owns with her husband, Bruce.  She taught marketing and strategic management classes for 20 years as an adjunct faculty member at the Whittemore School of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire, her alma mater.  A native of Berlin, New Hampshire, Senator Cilley has lived in Barrington for more than 18 years.  Click here to learn more about her leadership in the NH Senate.

"I'm tremendously excited to participate in Senator Obama's campaign," says Cilley.  "This is a candidate whose values I share and I look forward to the very positive impact he will have on our country as its next President."
