Deputy Field Director
Oliva Lopez
Regional field director for the Obama campaign in Nevada and contributed to get-out-the-vote efforts in Arizona, Texas and Oregon.  In 2004, Lopez organized grassroots efforts for presidential and local Democratic races in California's 17th Congressional District.  She has worked for the office of Global Development Alliances (GDA) at USAID, the Impact Alliance, an international network dedicated to social change, and at Inter American Dialogue, a think tank on U.S.-Latin American relations and policy issues. M.Sc. in comparative politics from London School of Economics and B.A. in political science from UC Berkeley.

Adam Wilzcewski
Wilzcewski is a veteran of South Florida campaigns.  Since 2001, he has worked with four presidential, two congressional, and a handful of local races, serving in the political, field, and finance departments.  In 2006-07, he served as the Southern Finance Director for Joe Biden for President in Florida and most recently was a finance and political consultant for campaigns in South Florida.  In addition, Wilzcewski has consulted and fundraised for a number of national non-profits. Adam attended the University of Florida and received his law degree from American University's Washington College of Law.

Alejandro Miyar
(announced July 23, 2008)  Miyar was most recently the statewide press secretary and Hispanic outreach coordinator for the Florida Democratic Party.  Press secretary for City of Miami Mayor Manny Diaz from 2004-07.  Graduate of Haverford College.  Of Cuban-American heritage, Miyar grew up in South Florida.


TAMPA BAY REGION (announced July 23, 2008)

Laura Grossman
Youth vote organizer for the Obama campaign in Pennsylvania during the primary.  Grossman's political experience includes field organizing in Missouri and Ohio on the 2004 Kerry-Edwards campaign, work with the communications department at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, and work in U.S. Sen. Joe Biden's Chief of Staff's office. Grossman just completed her Masters degree in governmental administration at the University of Pennsylvania.

Omar Khan
Khan left Florida to become the Nevada state field director for Biden for President in 2007.  After Biden withdrew he joined the Obama campaign, serving in Nevada on voter outreach and in New Mexico and Texas as a field organizer, and then taking the role of operations director for the Texas Democratic State Convention.    President of Florida Young Democrats.  Deputy political director for Florida Senate Democrats during the 2006 election cycle.  Deputy campaign manager for Florida House Victory ’04.  Graduate of the University of South Florida; elected student body president and appointed to the USF’s Board of Trustees. Native of Central Florida.

Adora Andy
(announced July 23, 2008)  Spokesperson for the Obama campaign in six states during the primary election season.  Spokesperson for the DeKalb County District Attorney's Office in Metro-Atlanta before joining the Obama campaign.  Andy got her start in politics as Congressman Harold Ford Jr.'s Press Secretary on his U.S. Senate Campaign in Tennessee.  A former journalist, she worked as a TV news producer at stations in Missouri and Tennessee and a writer at CNBC Europe in London.  Graduate of the University of Missouri's School of Journalism.

Lynn Eisenberg
Eisenberg started on the Obama campaign in New Hampshire, continued in a variety of roles in the Chicago headquarters, and returned to the states to work in the Pennsylvania primary.  Interned in U.S. Senator Corzine’s office and worked on Jeff Smith’s State Senate race in Missouri.  Graduate of Washington University in St. Louis.  New Jersey native.

Joshua W. Maddock
Most recently, District representative in Congressman Ron Klein’s office.  Worked for four years for Sen. Bill Nelson, both in his West Palm Beach and Washington DC offices.  Maddock ran countywide and single-member district campaigns in Palm Beach County prior to his experience at the federal level.  Degree in political science from the University of Georgia.

Bobby Gravitz
Started on the Obama campaign in Iowa and continued as a spokesperson in four additional states during the primary election season.  Previously deputy research director on Tom Vilsack's presidential campaign.  In 2006, he worked as a research consultant at a firm in Oakland, CA.  Graduate of Yale University.

A Florida attorney and legislative aide for State Rep. Geraldine F. Thompson (D-Orlando).   Worked as Florida Legal Counsel for election protection efforts in 2004.  Graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta and Florida State University's College of Law.  Native of Tallahassee.

From Kentucky and most recently served as the Obama campaign's political director in the Kentucky primary; earlier he worked field operations in Texas, New Mexico and Nevada for Obama.  Prior to joining the Obama campaign, he served as Gov. Bill Richardson's Nevada GOTV director and deputy field director for the Iowa caucuses.  Previously, Wright served as field director for two congressional campaigns.  Graduate of Murray State University and Northern Kentucky University's Chase College of Law.

Kevin Cate
(announced Aug. 14, 2008)  Joins the Obama campaign from his position as deputy communications director in Florida Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink's office.  Director of communications for the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.  Press secretary for the Florida Department of Heath, where he won an Emmy for his work on the "Fifth Guy" campaign.  Prior to his work in state government, Cate ran communications and Pasco County field operations for Phyllis Busansky's 2006 US Congressional race.  Graduate of Auburn University in Alabama and is currently working on his Master's at Florida State University.  Florida native.

Joined the Obama campaign in July 2007, and has worked for Sen. Obama in New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Oregon.  Taught special education students in the South Bronx as a member of Teach for America.  Started in politics working for Rep. Adam Schiff’s 2000 campaign, which remains the most expensive U.S. House race.  Graduate of Claremont McKenna College.

In 2007, Jenkins returned to Central Florida and helped Tony Sasso and Darren Soto win special elections for State Representative in former Republican districts.  Taught social studies in inner city Atlanta as a member of Teach for America.  Degree in public policy from Duke University.  From Central Florida and was Edgewater High School president in 2000.

Laura McGinnis
U.S. Congressional Page during the Clinton Administration, McGinnis has been involved with local, state, and national campaigns in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Washington, D.C. prior to joining Obama for America in Florida. Specializing in minority and diversity media relations, she is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, and the National Gay and Lesbian Journalists Association.
