Started on the Obama campaign as Southwest regional field director for the Iowa caucuses.  GOTV director of the Washington Democrats' 2006 Coordinated Campaign.  Has worked for congressman Jay Inslee.  Worked on Sen. Patty Murray's 2004 re-election campaign.  Worked on several statewide initiatives.  Campaign manager on State Rep. Geoff Simpson's re-election campaign.  Interned at the Washington State Labor Council.  Steele has also served in the U.S. Marine Corps, as a trucker in Seattle, and on a crab fishing boat in Alaska.  Born and raised in Edmonds.
