State Director Brandon Hurlbut
Oversaw veterans, seniors and labor outreach in the political department on Obama's NH primary campaign.  Came to the campaign from Washington, DC where he was associate at Baker & Daniels LLP.  Campaign experience includes Dorothy Brown for Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court, 2000; Bill Bradley for President, 1999–2000; and Glenn Poshard for Governor of Illinois, 1998.  J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, 2004.  B.A. from University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, 1997.
 

Deputy State Director Nicole Derse
Oversaw faith, progressives, people of color and GLBT outreach in the political department on Obama's NH primary camapign.  San Francisco activist.  For much of 2006 Derse worked as field director for PowerPAC; coordinating with grassroots organizations in Southern California to help them increase voter turnout.  Worked for the Alliance for a Better California, a labor-backed organization formed to oppose Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's Nov. 2005 ballot initiatives.  Managed Ross Mirkarimi's successful 2004 campaign for San Francisco Supervisor.  Youth empowerment coordinator for the San Francisco Youth Commission for three years.  Degree in urban studies at Macalester College, 2001.  From Slinger, WI.


Communications Director Chris Lu
Took leave from his position as legislative director in Obama's Senate office.  Deputy chief counsel for the Democratic staff of the House Government Reform Committee (Rep. Henry Waxman), 1997-2005.  Served as special advisor for communications to Kerry-Edwards '04.  Worked as a litigator at a D.C. law firm and a law clerk to a federal court of appeals judge.  Graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School, where he was a classmate of Obama.

Former FEC attorney.  Graduate of Harvard Law School, 2002.

Mid-Atlantic finance director.  Graduate of Williams College, 2005.
