JOHN EDWARDS RETURNS TO IOWA…
He helped turn Iowa red with his pessimistic vision for America

DES MOINES – Republican Party of Iowa Executive Director Cullen Sheehan made the following statement today on Former 2004 Vice Presidential Candidate John Edwards’ weekend trip to Iowa:

“In 2004, Iowa was one of two states that turned from red to blue in the Presidential election largely because John Edwards has consistently voted against Iowa’s farmers and business owners.  He has a record of voting against the repeal of the estate tax and opposing Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA), both of which are good for farmers and good for business.

“Unfortunately, John Edwards just doesn’t get it and he will continue to be rejected by Iowa voters.   He couldn’t disguise his liberal voting record before and he won’t be able to again.”
