DES MOINES – Democrat Rep. Leonard Boswell (D-03) welcomed tax-and-spend liberal Joe Biden to his campaign team at an event in Des Moines today.  Biden is another in a series of far left liberals to campaign for Boswell including San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, failed Vice-Presidential candidate John Edwards and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

“It’s appropriate that Boswell would invite a self-described “northeast liberal” like Joe Biden to join him on the campaign trail,” Republican Party of Iowa Executive Director Cullen Sheehan said.  “Biden and Boswell have consistently voted to increase taxes, only to put the money back in the pockets of special interests,”

Biden and Boswell both opposed extending the 2001 tax cuts, which would save the average family of four over $2,000 on their tax bill.

“Biden and Boswell have a record of raiding taxpayer’s pocketbooks in order to fund big government, special interest projects.  Since Rep. Boswell has said that his priorities in Congress will ‘probably continue to be the same’; it is clear that Iowa’s taxpayers deserve a congressman like Jeff Lamberti, who will fight for lower taxes and responsible spending reforms,” concluded Sheehan.
