(elected chairman in Nov. 2006)  Elected to the U.S. Senate in 2000 and re-elected in 2006.  Elected to Congress in 1994 and re-elected in 1996 and 1998.  Unsuccessfully challenged U.S. Sen. Harry Reid in 1998.  Owner of South Shores Animal Hospital, Las Vegas, 1994-2001.  Owner of West Flamingo Animal Hospital in  Las Vegas, 1987-94.  D.V.M. from Colorado State University, 1985; B.S. from Oregon State University, 1981.
 
 
Executive Director Scott Bensing
Previously Ensign's chief of staff for over six years.  Deputy campaign manager on Ensign's successful 2000 campaign for U.S. Senate.  Worked for U.S. Rep. Steve Largent (R-OK).  Worked on Ensign's closely fought 1998 campaign against U.S. Sen. Harry Reid.  Legislative director for then-U.S. Rep. John Ensign.  Graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1988 and served seven years as a surface warfare officer in the U.S. Navy.  M.B.A. from American University.
 
 
Political Director Mike Slanker
Came to the Committee from Las Vegas where he and his wife Lindsey ran November Inc., a political consulting firm.  He has worked on Ensign's 1998, 2000 and 2006 Senate campaigns among many others.  Native of Salem, Ohio.
 
 
Communications Director Rebecca Fisher
(started Jan. 2007) Spokesperson and media liaison at the Federal Communications Commission Media Bureau starting in Sept. 2004.  Previously press secretary on the Senate Commerce Committee.
 
 
Finance Director Lindsey Slanker
Came to the Committee from Las Vegas where she and husband Mike ran November Inc., a political consulting firm.
