Nov. 10, 2005--In conjunction with the Democrats' rally, Republicans
organized a small event outside DNC headquarters to illustrate their view
that Democrats have chickened out from offering "an actual agenda with
- perish the thought - new ideas for the American people." Participants
carried buckets of chicken and distributed a menu touting "rhetoric-inflated
stuffing, agenda-free potatoes, higher taxed poultry, and more hypocrite
pie." (After the event they proceeded back to RNC headquarters).
RNC press secretary Tracey Schmitt also issued a statement.
"Instead of providing some glimpse of what it is that the Democrat
Party stands for, today Democrats are once again showing their unity by
not standing for anything. Celebrating partisanship without proposing
a platform is in itself puzzling, but standing in the way of solutions
for the American people without offering an alternative is negligent.
Americans want answers, not partisan pep rallies and consummate campaigning."
