January 20, 2006--Ray Hoffmann, chairman of the Republican
Party of Iowa, attended the Republican National Committee's winter meeting
in Washington, DC. Asked what advice he would offer Republican presidential
hopefuls, Hoffman said, "Come early and come often." Visits are mutually
beneficial. The party, local committees, and candidates can use presidential
prospects as headliners for fundraising events; in turn these events are
a good way to get in touch with the activists.
Hoffmann, from Sioux City, has now served as state chairman for a year; he was elected on Jan. 15, 2005. He has been a member of the State Central Committee since 1993 and served as the party's treasurer starting in May 1995. He is a stockbrocker and owns Luciano's Restaurant. |
