February 8, 2006--The rally drew a relatively small crowd, perhaps
seventy people. (more) |
|
There were also half a dozen protesters who chanted, "Racists, fascists,
KKK. Right wing bigots go away." One of the protesters, Becky
from Herdon [holding sign "Nazis = Minutemen = KKK"], stated that "capital
moves freely; people should be able to as well." |
|
Unbelievably a couple of Nazis actually did show up outside the rally.
Bill White from Roanoke stated that he and Kevin Swift from Reston had
come "to oppose the Minutemen collaboration with the Jew capitalists and
the U.S. government." Later Becky from Herndon stood her ground in
a five minute, face to face shouting match with White. There was
some pushing and shoving before the Capitol Police appeared on the scene
and defused the situation. |
