| February 28, 2006--In town for the National Governors Association's winter meeting, Gov. Tom Vilsack (D-IA) spoke at the National Press Club, emphasizing community. Vilsack stated, "I think that people in this country do not get the sense as they deal with these very difficult problems in their own lives that there's help, that there's a supporting community, a community that surrounds them and that they're not alone in their struggles. I think we have a crisis of confidence in the national community." |
