| May 17, 2006--The band "Diamond Rio" performed after President Bush spoke at the Republican National Committee's 2006 Presidential Gala at DAR Constitution Hall. Given the recent spate of news stories pointing to possible Republican losses in the upcoming mid-term elections (for example, the Washington Post had an article this morning headlined "Confidence in GOP is at new low in poll.") the band's song "Beautiful Mess" took on a somewhat ironic meaning, but the band's performance was well-received (back) |
