| July 22, 2006--Rules and Bylaws Committee member Mark Brewer (center), who is chair of the Michigan Democratic Party, unsuccessfully attempted to get the Committee to reconsider its decision to add just two new states to the pre-window period. Brewer advocated for four new states. "I think it is very, very important, given the increasing importance of the pre-window period, that all regions of this country be represented in that period because the nominee is likely to be determined then," Brewer said. |
