| November 6, 2006--Former Vice President Al Gore rallied Maryland Democrats at Leisure World in Silver Spring, Maryland. Topping the ticket are Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley, running against incumbent Gov. Bob Ehrlich (R), and Rep. Ben Cardin, running against Lt. Gov. Michael Steele (R) for the U.S. Senate seat held by retiring Sen. Paul Sarbanes (D). Although Maryland is a "blue state" both races are competitive. |
