Beltway Happenings
November 20, 2006--Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) answered a couple of questions from reporters after an appearance on ABC News' "This Week," signed a few autographs, and then rushed off to catch a plane.  A few days earlier, on November 16, he filed with the FEC to establish a presidential exploratory committee.

On the program McCain said the consequences of failure in Iraq would be "catastrophic."  "We have to have additional forces or we will be playing whack a mole," he said.  McCain has argued for the past 3 1/2 years that there are not enough troops on the ground in Iraq.
