| December 3, 2006--Sen. Evan Bayh (D-IN) answered questions from reporters
after an appearance on ABC News' "This Week." Many of host George
Stephanopoulos' questions focused on Iraq. Bayh, a member of the
Senate Armed Services Committee, told Stephanopoulos that "this problem
is not going to be solved in Washington." He said the United States
needs to "keep the pressure on." "If they [the Iraqis] don't get
their act together, we can't do it for them, " Bayh said. During
the program Bayh announced plans to establish a presidential exploratory
committee. Bayh then answered reporters' questions outside and took
time to sign autographs, including one in a copy of his 2003 book "From
Father to Son." |
