| December 6, 2006--Gov. Bill Richardson (D-NM) lauded Gov. Tom Vilsack
(D-IA), who chaired the Democratic Governors Association during the 2004
cycle. One of Vilsack's accomplishments as DGA chair was to start
regular meetings between the various Democratic committees (DGA, DSCC,
DCCC, DNC, DLCC, NCDM and NDCO) to get some coordination of message.
Vilsack, the nation's longest serving Democratic governor, will finish
his tenure as governor in January and recently announced his campaign for
