Beltway Happenings
December 8, 2006--Gov. Bill Richardson (D-NM) was among several governors addressing a press event organized by the Apollo Alliance to draw attention to efforts to develop alternative energy sources and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.  Apollo Alliance president Jerome Ringo said that in the absence of action by the federal government, "the challenge has fallen to governors to set the pace."  Ringo lauded Richardson, who served as Secretary of Energy from 1998-2001, as "a national clean energy leader."
Jerome Ringo, president of The Apollo Alliance and also chairman of the board of the National Wildlife Federation, wraps up as Governor Richardson speaks with Leo Girard, president of the United Steelworkers.  The Apollo Alliance is a collaborative effort of the Institute for America’s Future (IAF) and the Center on Wisconsin Strategy (COWS).
