| April 1, 2007--Former Gov. Tommy Thompson (R-WI) spoke to reporters
after an appearance on ABC News' "This Week with George Stephanopoulos."
during which he affirmed he is running for president. Thompson is
scheduled to formally announce on April 4 in Milwaukee. On the program
Thompson termed himself "the reliable conservative." He also noted
that he has been busy. "I've been in Iowa every single week since
the first week in December," Thompson said. "I've been visiting individuals
and groups and talking to people every single week, and I've been into
over 30 counties, one-third of the counties, and over 100 communities,
and it's really looking good." |
