Beltway Happenings
May 16, 2007--Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) received the endorsement of Congresswoman Doris Matsui (D-Sacramento) during an event at which the campaign launched Asian and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) for Hillary.  Matsui will serve as national chair of AAPIs for Hillary.  (press release)
One of the Clinton supporters at the event was Surjit S. Mann of Alexandria, Virginia.  Recalling the leadership of Indira Gandhi in India, Mann said in a brief interview that, "This is the time that this country should produce a lady president."  Pointing to Clinton's experience as First Lady, including her extensive travels overseas, Mann said Clinton "has the right qualifications" to be president.
