Beltway Happenings
April 1, 2008-On the second day of his "Service to America" tour Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) spoke at his alma mater, Episcopal High School in Alexandria, VA.   McCain recalled that he earned enough demerits as a first year student to be designated "worst rat."  He paid particular tribute to one of his teachers at the school, William B. Ravenel, and also spoke more generally on education before taking a few questions from students.
McCain's tour started on Monday in Meridian, MS, and continues tomorrow in Annapolis, MD and Pensacola, FL, then to Jacksonville, FL on Thursday before concluding in Prescott, AZ on Friday.
McCain's wife Cindy, daughter Meghan, and 96-year old mother, Roberta listen to his speech.  Meghan McCain was recently featured in GQ (Greg Veis. "Raising McCain."  GQ, March 18, 2008), and has drawn some attention for her McCainBlogette, featuring "musings and pop culture on the political trail."
