Ritz-Carlton, Washington, DC's
"Inaugural Trade Show" creations of pastry chef Jérôme
Girardot were on display including a birthday cake for Vice
President-elect Joe Biden, who celebrated his 66th birthday
today. |

Other food on hand for this
event included a whole roast pig (not clear if it was prepared in a
traditional Imu or underground oven), and pizzas prepared by the
Italian Fiesta Pizzeria in Chicago. This is reportedly Michelle
Obama's favorite pizza. A team from the restaurant drove a van
with enough ingredients to make 200 pizzas all the way from
Chicago. "It's made with all fresh ingredients daily," stated
owner/president Patricia Harris Tubbs.
