Dec. 19, 2008--President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush unveiled their portraits at the National Portrait Gallery.  These portraits were commissioned by the Gallery; the portrait of President Bush will be displayed in the Gallery's "America's Presidents" exhibition.
Robert Anderson, a classmate of Bush's at Yale University who now works in Darien, CT, painted the President's portrait.  Aleksander Titovets, a Russian painter now based in El Paso, TX, and best known for his landscapes, did the portrait of the First Lady.  (Transcript of Remarks)
