ATLANTA, Thursday April 19, 2007 -- 100 Black Men of America, Inc. (100) announced today that it will host a town hall-style meeting of the 2008 United States presidential candidates as a part of its 21st Annual Conference, Taking Control of Our Future, in Las Vegas. On Thursday, June 7 at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel, 13 candidates from both parties have committed to participating in this historic event addressing the issues that concern the 100 Black Men of America and its constituent communities.

An important component of the 100 Black Men of America's Real Men Vote campaign, this town hall meeting is designed to offer each candidate a forum to publicly share their positions and national perspectives on core issues affecting the 100 Black Men of America and the African-American community. The meeting will focus exclusively on the organization's four programmatic areas, education, health and wellness, economic development and mentoring.

"As 100 Black Men of America promotes the national dialogue of Taking Control of Our Future among its membership and communities, representing the issues facing these constituencies to the nation's policy makers has become increasingly more important," said Albert E. Dotson, Jr. "We look forward to offering each of the registered candidates an opportunity to share in this national dialogue, by expressing their views to our conference participants."

Real Men Vote is the 100 Black Men of America's national, non-partisan initiative that promotes active, civic participation among African-American men, their families and their communities. The goal of this initiative is too utilize the 106 chapters of 100 Black Men of America, Inc. as a catalyst for raising civic consciousness and encouraging involvement in the political process.

The 100 Black Men of America's Annual Conference brings its membership, supporters and enthusiasts from around the world together to exchange ideas and gather information to better serve their respective communities. The conference traditionally provides participants a diverse array of well- respected and renowned speakers, a myriad of workshops and opportunities to network with national thought leaders and each other. This year's conference will be held from June 6-10 at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel in Las Vegas Nevada. American Urban Radio Networks will provide gavel-to-gavel coverage of the entire conference, including the Presidential Candidates' Town Hall Meeting.

100 Black Men was founded as an organization in New York City in 1963. The national organization, 100 Black Men of America, Inc., began with 10 chapters in 1986 as a national alliance of leading African American men of business, industry, public affairs and government. Dotson, Jr., Esq., the organization has 106 chapters, and growing, in the United States, England, and the Caribbean.  There are members from a myriad of professions, including corporate executives, physicians, attorneys, entrepreneurs, entertainers, elected officials, professional athletes, educators and men from numerous other professions.

The 100, as it is widely known, has created programs which provide an environment where young people are encouraged and motivated to learn and achieve. With a mission to improve the quality of life and enhance educational opportunities for African Americans, members of the 100 serve as a strong force overcoming the cultural and financial obstacles that have limited the achievements of African American youth, particularly young African American males. The organization has made outstanding progress, proving that Blacks can, and do, excel in corporate and community leadership.
