Indiana Debate Commission Invites Democratic Presidential Hopefuls to Debate
Media Partners for National and Statewide Broadcast Would Include CNN and PBS

INDIANAPOLIS—The Indiana Debate Commission extended invitations today to the campaigns of Senator Hillary Clinton and Senator Barack Obama for a presidential primary debate in Indiana. The debate would take place after the Pennsylvania Primary and before the May 6 Indiana Primary.

Details regarding the exact date, time and location are still to be determined. The debate would be carried nationally by PBS and CNN and would be available to any broadcast station in Indiana, through the Indiana Debate Commission.

“It is precisely for opportunities such as this that the Indiana Debate Commission was formed. We want to give Hoosiers the opportunity to hear directly from the candidates in an open debate before the historic May 6th Primary,” said Kevin Finch, president of the Indiana Debate Commission and news director of CBS affiliate WISH-TV in Indianapolis.

The Commission has yet to hear from either campaign but the official invitations were set to arrive at their offices just this afternoon.
