“Presidency IV” to Showcase Republican Presidential Candidates, Culminate in Debate

Tallahassee—Republican Party of Florida Chairman Jim Greer announced today that the Party will host a two-day event in October featuring major Republican candidates for President of the United States and culminating in a presidential debate. The debate, produced in partnership with the FOX News Channel, will be the focal point of the weekend’s events, called “Presidency IV.”

“This event will celebrate the outstanding qualifications and leadership abilities of our major Republican candidates for President of the United States,” noted Chairman Greer.  “It will also allow the candidates to interact with Florida’s grassroots volunteers, state and local Republican Party leadership, elected officials, major party donors, and Republicans from across the state.”

Presidency IV will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2007 and Sunday, October 21, 2007 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel and Resort in Orlando, Florida.  The weekend’s agenda will consist of a variety of activities, culminating in the nationally-televised, primetime debate.

The Republican Party of Florida is also pleased to announce that it is partnering with FOX News Channel and its affiliates, which will be moderating and televising the debate. “FOX News is pleased to be working with the Republican Party of Florida on this debate. Every four years, Florida is one of the most important states in presidential politics and our debate will help voters there and around the nation learn more about the candidates and their positions on key issues,” FOX News Executive Producer of Political Programs Marty Ryan said.

“Presidency IV provides a unique opportunity to highlight Florida’s outstanding Governor and the great State of Florida,” concluded Chairman Greer.  “At the same time, it provides the rest of the nation with an opportunity to get to know their Republican candidates for President.”
