Democrats for the West Petition (12/05)

To the Democratic National Committee and Chairman Howard Dean,

The future of the Democratic Party lies out west, as it is home to some of the fastest growing areas in the United States.

We the undersigned active Democrats therefore request that the Democratic National Committee and Chairman Howard Dean, support the creation of a Mountain West Primary/Caucus on February 5th, 2008 to give a greater voice to Western states, as they are the new battleground for Democrats to win in 2008.

Further, the February 5th, 2008 Primary/Caucus would allow the eight states involved: Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and Nevada to have more say in the democratic process.

Further, the Democratic ideals of cultural diversity and traditional values are what the heart of the West was built on.

We the undersigned active Democrats further request that the state legislators and Governors of the following eight states: Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and Nevada endorse the creation of the Mountain West Primary/Caucus on February 5th, 2008.
