Over 60 Elected Officials From Across North Carolina Endorse Hillary for President

Leaders Cite Hillary’s Leadership; Record on the Economy

On the heels of North Carolina Governor Mike Easley’s endorsement yesterday in Raleigh, the Clinton campaign today announced over 60 of North Carolina’s elected and former elected officials are endorsing Hillary for president. These leaders and community activists will support the campaign’s aggressive grassroots efforts in the Tar Heel State leading up to the May 6th primary.

“Hillary is the most qualified person for the job – she is a doer and a fighter,” said State Senator Julia Boseman. “I am impressed by her plans to bring health care to all Americans, lower gas prices, and create renewable energy solutions. She is the best for our country and the best for North Carolina.”

“I am supporting Hillary Clinton because she has real solutions to the problems created by the failed policies of the Bush administration, said Asheville Vice Mayor Jan Davis. “I appreciate her approach on many issues; especially, ending No Child Left Behind, ensuring health insurance for all Americans, and bringing about a realistic exit from Iraq.  She is clearly the best candidate to be the next President of the United States.”

“I am thrilled to receive the support of such a diverse and experienced group of North Carolina leaders,” said Senator Clinton. “I look forward to working with them as president to rebuild North Carolina’s middle class, jumpstart the economy, and help bring new jobs to their communities.”
