DES MOINES – The Iowa Democratic Party announces today that Norm Sterzenbach will serve as the Political and Caucus Director. As part of his duties Norm will coordinate the 2008 Precinct Caucuses.
“The Iowa Democratic Party is committed to a fair, open and honest Caucus and Norm will ensure that happens,” said Iowa Democratic Party Chair Scott Brennan.
“Norm’s extensive experience in Iowa politics and the Iowa Caucuses makes him the most-qualified candidate for the Political and Caucus Director position,” said Iowa Democratic Party Executive Director Mike Milligan.
A native of Cedar Rapids, Norm Sterzenbach is a veteran politcal operative.
In the past 5 election cycles, he has worked across the country on campaigns
at all levels, including State Representative, U.S. Congress, Senate, Lt
Governor, Governor and President. He most recently served as Deputy
Campaign Manager for Governor Elect Chet Culver's successful gubernatorial
campaign. He has worked in two Iowa Caucus campaigns. In 2000,
he served as the eastern Iowa Field Director on Bill Bradley’s campaign,
and in 2004, he served as the Caucus Director for the American Association
of Retired People (AARP). He currently lives in Des Moines with his
wife Danielle and their daughter Bryanna.
